The 46th International Congress of the World Association for the History of Veterinary Medicine, León
18 - 22 September 2024

WAHVM congress Léon great success

The last WAHVM meeting was 18-21 September 2024 in Léon, Spain. Léon is an interesting and beautiful city which grew out of a Roman castrum from the first century B.C. The physical remnants of this fortification are still very visible. The congress was held in the buildings of the veterinary faculty on the campus of the university of Léon. Speakers from all over the globe presented papers on subjects from very different angles about the history of animal health. From veterinary medicine to archaeology, linguistics, sociology and culture to name a few.
The team of professor Francisco Rojo Vázquez did a wonderful job in
organizing several interesting and sometimes spectacular excursions and culinary experiences.
